(HIMNO INCLUIDO) En conmemoración a la fecha de nacimiento de Angel Amadeo Labruna, el máximo exponente de La Banda, hoy se celebra el undécimo aniversario como homenaje al sentimiento y a la pasión de los fanáticos millonarios, quienes continúan transmitiendo su apoyo incondicional de manera constante.
El amor por los colores no conoce de resultados, campeonatos económicos, límites geográficos y ni siquiera puede ser representado a través de una medida ligada a la Matemática. Sin embargo, el respaldo de los hinchas de River se ve reflejado durante todos estos años y en momentos absolutamente inéditos para la historia del club.
Desde que el 25 de mayo de 1901 se produjo la fusión entre La Rosales y Santa Rosa para bautizar al Club Atlético River Plate, han ocurrido un sinfín de acontecimientos deportivos, institucionales y sociales que generaron un crecimiento impresionante en cuanto a la magnitud y la importancia del equipo más ganador de la Argentina.
Cada vez es mayor la popularidad de la banda roja. El dolor por la pérdida de categoría no causó ningún efecto negativo en orgullo de los hinchas, quienes lucen con felicidad las nuevas camisetas, siguen colmando las tribunas y provocaron una auténtica revolución en la B Nacional, logrando el regreso del público visitante.
Lo cierto es que hoy es el Día Internacional del Hincha de River Plate y, como cada 28 de septiembre, cada uno de los millones de fanáticos que tiene La Banda en la Argentina y el mundo debe sentirse orgulloso de llevar en la sangre los colores que Angelito llevó desde su nacimiento, en 1918.
