Todo termina al fin… Hasta las rachas. River llegaba al encuentro frente a Racing buscando alcanzar los cinco partidos consecutivos sin permitir goles en contra, pero duró poco la ilusión.
A los tres minutos de la primera parte, Gabriel Hauche definió por encima de Leandro Chichizola y le propinó el primer gol al equipo de Ramón. Para colmo, al mismo minuto pero de la segunda mitad, otra vez el delantero de la Academia, esta vez de cabeza, anotó el 2-1.
Así, Ramón sufrió los primeros goles en contra desde su regreso a Nuñez. El último tanto que había recibido River fue el de Leonel Galeano, en el empate 2-2 ante Independiente, en Avellaneda, por la fecha 17 del último campeonato.
Después se sucedieron cuatro victorias consecutivas: 1-0 a Lanús (con Gustavo Zapata en el banco) y 2-0 a San Martín de San Juan, Independiente y Boca (todas con el riojano como técnico).
La joven defensa en la derrota ante Racing no dejó conforme a Ramón, quien además vio como le gritaban los goles por primera vez.
