Victoria importantísima de River en La Paternal ante Argentinos Juniors. Un partido en el cual durante el primer tiempo tuvo al conjunto de Gabriel Milito superior en el juego y a un River muy golpeado que no supo generar situaciones de peligro por la falta de volantes de creación. Situación que se invirtió por completo con el ingreso de Juan Fernando Quintero, Agustín Palavecino y Lucas Beltrán, tres jugadores que le cambiaron totalmente la cara al equipo. Los tres convirtieron goles y le dieron lucidez y frescura al partido.
Con el triunfo de esta noche ante el Bichito Colorado, el conjunto de Marcelo Gallardo se posicionó en la tercera posición de la tabla anual (Copa de la Liga + Liga Profesional de Fútbol) con 64 puntos. Aprovechó las derrotas de Argentinos Juniors, Huracán y Estudiantes y el empate de Gimnasia, los cuatro principales perseguidores. Lamentablemente los dos que tiene arriba, Racing y Boca, no perdieron puntos, consiguieron dos grandes triunfos y se posicionaron en la primera y segunda posición con 70 y 69 puntos, respectivamente.

Con unos tres puntos claves en la espalda, el Millonario no puede dormirse nuevamente porque el miércoles se enfrentará ante Estudiantes de La Plata, otro perseguidor suyo que quiere ingresar a la Copa Libertadores 2023, en el estadio Mâs Monumental por la fecha 23 de la Liga Profesional de Fútbol. Un encuentro sumamente importante para el plantel que llega motivadísimo y con hambre de gloria.
