Enzo Fernández cada día que pasa demuestra porque es uno de los mejores jugadores que salieron de las inferiores de River en la última década. Un jugador que le bastó solamente un año defendiendo el Manto Sagrado en la primera división para ser considerado y tenido en cuenta por históricos clubes de Europa, como es el caso del Benfica de Portugal, su actual club. Y como si fuera poco, con tan solo 21 años y menos de dos meses en el Viejo Continente, ya se encuentra en carpeta de ni más ni menos Jürgen Klopp para reforzar el mediocampo del Liverpool.
El Benfica, quién siguió a Encito desde la Liga Profesional de Fútbol 2021 donde fue figura, vino a la carga por él en el último mercado de pases y pagó por el mediocampista 10 millones de euros brutos + 8 millones en objetivos por el 75% de su pase, dejando el 25% restante para River. Los objetivos son utilizar a Enzo al menos 45 minutos por 10, 25, 40 y 50 partidos, y el primer ya se cumplió el pasado 6 de septiembre cuando enfrentó al Maccabi Haifa por la primera fecha de la UEFA Champions League. Gracias a eso, el Millonario recibió 2 millones de euros limpios.
Además, hay muchas probabilidades de que Enzo tenga chances en esta gira con la Selección y sea titular en alguno de los partidos, sumado a que está peleando en este momento por un puesto en la lista ni más ni menos que con otro ex River, Exequiel Palacios, para formar parte de la lista final de 26 jugadores en el Mundial de Catar 2022 a disputarse entre el 20 de noviembre y el 18 de diciembre. Scaloni también cuenta con la posibilidad de quitar un delantero y llevar a ambos mediocampistas a la cita futbolística a nivel selecciones más importante del mundo.
Lo curioso es la increíble estadística que tiene Enzo con “Os Encarnados”: El equipo dirigido por Roger Schmidt disputó 13 partidos desde la llegada de Fernández al club y en todos los partidos ganó. El mediocampista, que se ganó su lugar en el 11 inicial desde el primer entrenamiento, fue titular en todos los partidos, incluso en el partido ante la Juventus por la segunda fecha de la fase de grupos del torneo más importante de Europa a nivel clubes.
