La presentación de Martín Demichelis y su cuerpo técnico en River dejó muchas satisfacciones e incertidumbre de cara al futuro de River. A pesar de que recién comenzarán a trabajar con el grupo a partir del 10 de diciembre, los nuevos mandamás del plantel profesional del Millonario ya piensan en el duro trabajo que tendrán en la pretemporada para cambiar la mala cara que dejó el plantel en el 2022, un año muy irregular que no supo estar a la altura de ningún partido importante.
En Pasión Monumental te contamos cuando vuelven los futbolistas de sus vacaciones, cuando arrancarán la primera parte de la pretemporada, en Potrero de los Funes, San Luis, como harán en el medio de las fiestas, y cuando será la segunda y última parte de la pretemporada en Fort Lauderdale, Miami y Orlando, Estados Unidos. Hace una semana se confirmaron tres amistosos: dos a jugarse en USA ante Vasco Da Gama de Brasil y Millonarios de Colombia y uno a jugarse en Potrero de los Funes, San Luis, con rival y estadio a confirmar. Pero hace instantes se confirmó el cuarto y posiblemente último amistoso de la doble pretemporada.
La cuenta oficial del Rayados de Monterrey, México, en Twitter confirmó este mediodía que disputará ante el Más Grande un amistoso el martes 10 de enero de 2023 en el Q2 Stadium de Austin, Texas. Será el primer partido de la gira por el país norteamericano para el conjunto de Martín Demichelis. En él, el Millonario se enfrentará a dos jugadores que supieron portar el Manto Sagrado: Matías Kranevitter y Rogelio Funes Mori.

Con este último amistoso confirmado, así quedó el cronograma de la pretemporada de River:
- Hasta el 10 de diciembre estarán de licencia por vacaciones.
- Del 12/13 de diciembre al 23, el plantel regresará a la actividad y tendrán su primer destino para trabajar: Potrero de los Funes. Pueden darse algunos encuentros amistosos.
- El 22 de diciembre el primer amistoso de la Era Demichelis con rival y estadio a confirmar. La idea sería ante un equipo chileno, pero en caso de no concretarlo sería ante Godoy Cruz.
- 24/12 al 26/12, tendrán días libres por Navidad.
- 27/12 al 29/12, entrenamientos en el River Camp para no perder el ritmo.
- 30/12 al 2/01, días libres por las fiestas
- 3/1 al 18 de enero, segunda parte de la pretemporada en Estados Unidos con entrenamientos en Fort Lauderdale, Miami y Orlando.
- 10/1 primer amistoso en USA ante Rayados de Monterrey, México, en el Q2 Stadium de Austin, Texas.
- 14/1 segundo amistoso en EEUU ante Millonarios de Colombia en el DVR PNK Stadium.
- 17/1 tercer amistoso en Estados Unidos ante Vasco Da Gama en el Exploria Stadium.
