El León, a un poco más de seis meses de haberse retirado, ya tiene su partido de despedida. Ayer por la tarde presentó en una conferencia de prensa junto a Jorge Brito lo que será el evento del “Capitán Eterno”. Tendrá lugar en el estadio Mâs Monumental, la casa de River, el próximo 21 de septiembre y contará con la presencia principalmente de los jugadores campeones de la Copa Libertadores 2015 y 2018, en la cual en ambas formó parte el ídolo. También Ponzio reveló que estarán presentes los dos Milito, Gabriel y Diego, Maxi Rodríguez, Fernando Belluschi, Danilo Gerlo, Sebastián Domínguez y Nacho Scocco. El Loco Abreu y Paulo Ferrari, entre muchos otros jugadores, están invitados, pero no confirmaron su asistencia.
Luego de la conferencia, nuestro periodista Tomás Kunz tuvo la posibilidad de entrevistarlo junto a otros medios partidarios de River y le preguntó: “¿Qué es lo que más te emociona de River? ¿Estar en la bandera de los máximos ídolos, ser el jugador con más títulos en la historia del club o ser amado y recordado por todos los hinchas por haber puesto el pecho en el momento más difícil de la historia del club para luego impulsarte y tocar el cielo con las manos en Madrid en el 2018?”.
Ponzio, ante la pregunta, contestó: “Todo lo que vos dijiste lo valoro y mucho. Yo creo que lo que más me gusta del Mundo River son los últimos años, como progresamos y como nos ven desde afuera; como ustedes, los periodistas que son parte nuestra también, nos ven y nos ayudan a que formemos una familia e integremos parte de un lugar en el que todo el mundo quiere estar y pertenecer. Eso hace que todas esas cuestiones que vos dijiste estén involucradas.”
Además, el Capitán Eterno añadió: “Todo esto llega mediante resultados, mediante exigencia, mediante títulos, que es lo que forma a la historia grande de River, y es parte de lo que no hay que perder nunca”.
Por último, el jugador más ganador en la historia del club con 17 títulos finalizó: “River es esto, títulos, pero títulos a consecuencia de grupos, de personas, de buena gente, de estructuras institucionales, de cuerpos técnicos a largo plazo y de generar desde abajo del producto, desde las inferiores, más jugadores como Julián Álvarez. Todo eso, y más, es por donde yo abarcaría el Mundo River”.
