El ex River Luis González comenzará de manera oficial su carrera como director técnico. El año pasado había asumido en Athletico Paranaense, su último club como jugador de fútbol profesional, como interino pero renunció a su puesto un día después porque consideró que no fueron óptimas las condiciones en las que destituyeron al anterior DT. Ayer por la tarde-noche fue anunciado hasta diciembre de 2022 como directo técnico en Ceará Sporting Club, también de Brasil, en reemplazo de Marquinhos Santos. Estará acompañado por Emanuel Depaoli (estaba con Ricardo Zielinski en Estudiantes), Walter Scarinci y Diego Giachinno como preparador físico.
Luego de ser presentado, Lucho habló en conferencia de prensa y explicó que espera en su primera experiencia como director técnico: “Me gustaría ver un equipo corto, con pocos espacios entre líneas. Un equipo que es agresivo, le gusta tener el balón, pero tiene el tiempo para saber cuándo atacar. Eso demuestra un espíritu competitivo”, expresó el Comandante.
El DT finalizó la charla alabando a Marcelo Gallardo, entre otros técnicos, tras se consultado por los técnicos que lo representan: “Me identifico mucho con Marcelo Gallardo, no sólo como entrenador sino como persona”. Lucho con Gallardo no logró compartir cancha pero si lo tuvo de DT, entre 2015 y 2016 donde disputó 32 partidos, marcó 2 goles, dio 1 asistencia y ganó la Copa Libertadores 2015 y la Suruga Bank.
El Ceará se encuentra actualmente en la decimo quinta posición del Brasileirao a tres puntos del último cupo para la Copa Sudamericana y a dos puntos de la zona de descenso. El porteño de 41 llega al Vozão en busca de, al menos, clasificar al equipo al segundo torneo más importante del continente a nivel clubes.
