Las inferiores de River son sin lugar a duda las mejores de Argentina y una de las mejores de América y del mundo. En los últimos años sacó jugadores importantísimos como Lucas Martínez Quarta, Enzo Fernández, Sebastián Driussi, Julián Álvarez, Guido Rodríguez y Exequiel Palacios, entre otros jugadores que hoy la rompen en la Selección Argentina y en Europa.
Ayer por la tarde se confirmó que Lautaro Godoy y Kevin Colli, dos figuras de la Cuarta división y sin rodaje en la Reserva (jugaron solamente dos partidos), firmaron sus primeros contratos hasta el 31 de diciembre de 2024 para luego irse inmediatamente cedidos a préstamo a Athletico Paranaense hasta fines de 2023. Ambos van a formar parte de la Sub 20 del club brasilero.
Los contratos son exactamente iguales: Préstamo sin cargo y con opción de compra del 80% del pase de los futbolistas a cambio de 280 mil dólares por cada uno. River, en caso de que el club brasilero utilice la opción de compra, conserva un 20% de la ficha de ambos jugadores.

Godoy, en ese momento en 5ta división, fue parte de un video de River en la plataforma Youtube en el cual mostraban los mejores cinco goles de los juveniles en la jornada anta Banfield. Un gol sacando del medio que terminó con una pegada excepcional del juvenil que, dentro del área, le pegó con la cara externa del botín izquierdo y la clavó hacia al ángulo superior izquierdo (es el segundo tanto del video).
