El pasado 13 de noviembre Javier Pinola, referente y capitán de River desde el 2018, se retiró a los 39 años tras una extensa carrera donde ganó de todo, entre ellas la Copa Libertadores más importante de la historia. Decidió ponerle punto final pero no para alejarse del fútbol y del Millonario, sino que todo lo contrario. Colgó los botines para acompañar a su amigo Martín Demichelis en el cuerpo técnico como uno de los ayudantes de campo.
Al haber formado parte del grupo por tantos años y hasta hace menos de un mes, dentro de la dirección técnica será como un jugador más y sabrá sobrellevar mucho mejor la partida de Marcelo Gallardo. Además, ayudará a Micho a lograr jugar de la manera más parecida posible a la del Muñeco durante los últimos ocho años y medio. Ayer por la tarde, en un evento en el shopping Unicenter por Zona Norte, se refirió, entre otras cosas, a una increíble confesión de su nuevo compañero de trabajo.
“Él siempre estuvo informado de cómo iba creciendo el club. Incluso ya había tenido una charla con Marcelo hace un tiempo. Martín vio los progresos de la institución, está muy preparado y es muy claro con lo que él quiere”, dijo el referente y capitán de River que decidió retirarse para acompañar a Demichelis en el banco de suplentes del Más Grande como ayudante de campo.
Y razón no le falta a Pinola porque en febrero de 2021, en el Libero VS que tuvo con TyC Sports, había declarado: “Siempre digo que miro los partidos dos veces: primero con mi hijo como hincha y después por la profesión que elegí para aprender y analizar a uno de los mejores entrenadores del mundo (en referencia a Marcelo Gallardo). Los vuelvo a ver con una lupa para seguir descubriendo secretos y seguir aprendiendo”.
