“Los últimos 15 minutos del primer tiempo aflojamos un poco y perdimos algunas pelotas. Luego, en el segundo tiempo, River fue totalmente superior a Central”, manifestó el técnico de River.
“Sabíamos las carácterísticas del rival, los buenos jugadores que tiene y creo que el partido fue bastante parejo, ante un rival que está la lucha por el título como nosotros. Igualmente, yo pienso que River era un justo ganador, solamente nos faltó el segundo gol”, afirmó el entrenador.
Además, el Pelado aseguró que “éste es el camino a seguir. La entrega, confianza y paciencia. La gente reconoció todo lo que se hizo en el segundo tiempo. Hay que jugar más minutos así”.
Por otro lado, Almeyda aprovechó para elogiar a Leandro González Pírez, quien reemplazó a Jonatan Maidana: “Es una alegría que cada jugador que pongo aprovecha la oportunidad al máximo. Él demuestra por qué lo elijo. Hay mucha competencia en ese puesto. Estuvo a la altura de la circunstancias”.
Si bien considera que se necesita un triunfo, el exvolante central considera que “la actitud y tranquilidad lo llevarán a River por el buen camino, sabiendo que el campeonato es largo y duro”.
